We're happy to announce that Hunt is about to celebrate its 8 th year! As part of the celebrations, we are excited to bring back the Community Weapon Skin Contest.
Hunt has become what it is today thanks to you, the community. Over the years, we've seen some awesome Events, including the Moon Trilogy, the Tide Trilogy, and more recently, Web of the Empress and Post Malone's Murder Circus Encore. Hunt also went through a transformation with Update 2.0, bringing a new map—Mammon's Gulch—as well as an upgraded engine. The last year has been focused on updates for the health of the game, as well as bringing brand-new experiences like Bileweavers, community Events, the Flame Rifle, and more! Hunt has a bright future, and we can't wait to show you what we have in store for you in our upcoming updates. For now, let's celebrate!
If you have a keen eye for detail and an artistic flair, then this contest is for you! To participate, design a Skin for one or more of the weapon models below. We will then decide on the top designs that adhere to Hunt: Showdown 1896's visual style and put them to a public vote. The winner of the community vote will then have their Skin added to the game in a later update, as well as win the grand prize. All six Skins that get voted on will also be given a small prize too!

How to enter

- To be entered, your post must contain the contest hashtag #HuntAnniversaryContest and a tag to the official respective Hunt: Showdown 1896 page e.g (Facebook: @huntshowdown, X (Twitter): @huntshowdown, Instagram: @huntthegame).
- You can enter as many designs as you like! Each submission can use the template submission backgrounds provided and are not limited to fitting on one image.

What happens next?
- Once we have closed the entries, we will go through them with specially selected team members of the Hunt development team and decide which six Skins will go through to the final vote. Please note that designs will be chosen based on the 'Design Guideline' criteria below, which you can read in detail below in the blog.
- The final 6 Skins will be hosted on our website where you can vote for your favorite design. Details regarding the voting rules will be provided later on and that the decision is final.
- We will then reveal the winner on our social media channels on March 25 th 2026
- The design that wins the community vote will be added to the game.

Design Guidelines
Your design should be grounded in the game world and art direction of Hunt Showdown 1896. Focus on the gritty, dark, and unforgiving nature of the game. Stay away from ideas that would obviously break the art direction and tone of the game. Your designs must fit in the existing world of Hunt: Showdown 1896. Your design should mainly be driven by a complete texture change, like many of our existing equipment Skins. Change materials, engravings, or colors to whatever suits your idea. You are free to add one static (not animated and not moving) mesh attachment to your Skin to make it even more unique.- The mesh attachment must adhere to overall weapon proportions (length)
- It must not block the ADS view
Further Terms & Conditions
By submitting your design(s) you agree to the following further terms and conditions in addition to the rules of the contest described above: You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free and sub-licensable right and license to use your design(s) for the purpose to hold this contest; including but not limited to reproduce, copy and publish your design for the voting. Although we do not plan to use your design(s) for further purposes (unless you are picked as the winner) we cannot rule out that we might develop and publish a design that you might consider as looking similar to your design(s). With this regard, you understand that such similarity is most likely caused by the limited designing possibilities due to the look and feel of Hunt: Showdown 1896. In any case, you acknowledge and agree to settle any such discussions with us amicable and will not take any legal actions against us. You acknowledge and agree that in no case will you be entitled to compensation higher than the commercial value of the rewards provided to the winner in this contest for any use of your design(s) by us. If you are picked as the winner of this contest, you grant to us the exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable right and license to use, modify and exploit in any manner and in any medium your design; including but not limited to use your design to create an item that will be used in Hunt: Showdown 1896 to use your design for promotion purposes. To the fullest extent permissible under applicable law, you waive any moral rights in your design, including but not limited to any right to be acknowledged as the creator. You acknowledge that the only compensation for the foregoing license are the rewards provided in this contest. If you are picked as a winner, we will ask you to sign a separate license agreement. You understand that such signing of a license agreement is mandatory and a requirement to pick you as the winner and to grant you the rewards provided for the winner. By submitting your design, you confirm that you are over 18 years old and that you are entitled to grant us licenses as described above. You confirm that you created the design on your own or that you have all the necessary rights to grant us a license as described above. We reserve all rights to request progress work and drafts. We reserve all rights to run submitted entries through an AI Detector to determine presence of AI.
