The magic of the Abyss did not stop at Gormak. It seeped into the ground, poisoning all life around the observatory. Most of the plants withered in an instant, but one woke up. It was a small, crooked tree that would have withered away on its own over time. But under the influence of the Abyss, it came to life, its roots turning into legs, its branches into clawed tentacles, and its bark cracking into a terrible maw. The creature devoured everything: grass, animals, even stones. The shamans tried to burn it, chop it up, banish it - but it was reborn, as if the Abyss itself was feeding it. And then, on the day when the shamans finally sealed the observatory again, it disappeared. No one knows where it went. Some are sure that the cursed tree is looking for Mordruuk so that together they can return and break the seals on the observatory.
