Why this beta test?
RAIDS
In 1.1 we’re adding Raids, a new feature with a big impact on gameplay. Before we make it available to all players, we would like to know how you like it in their current form and what you would improve or change about them.
How do raids work? Each of your villages draws the attention of nearby villains. The more enemies there are in the region, the bigger the risk of a raid happening. Fighting them off where they reside lowers that risk, but don’t let your guard down, as you’re never 100% safe!
But fret not, rumors spread fast across the Nata Valley, and you will get one-day notice before a raid starts. And when it does, several waves of attackers will try to enter your village, engaging your guards, destroying your defensive structures, trying to capture your bell tower, and then looting your dynasty storages. Once they have what they came for, they will try to run away with stolen goods. You have a chance to stop them and retrieve the loot before they disappear out of your sight!
And if you prefer a more peaceful playstyle, rest assured you can disable Raids in game settings.
PERFORMANCE AND NETWORKING
We’ve put significant effort into improving the co-op experience, especially in late game villages, so that you can enjoy the “Seven Samurai” village-defense fantasy without major technical issues. Please let us know if you see improvement on that front.
There’s a lot more to the 1.1 Bushido Update, including an option to remove defeated enemy camp or build special project structures, like bridges, in your villages. The full list of changes will be made available with the final release. For now we’d like to ask for your full attention on raids and performance.
As this is a beta test, you may still encounter bugs, but we believe you will still enjoy it!
PS: One more small but important note. Please always update your graphics card drivers and/or install the latest drivers cleanly or again if there are fatal errors.
What is the Public Stage?
This is how we refer to the mode of operation where we work with a second game version on which new patches and updates can be installed and tested before they are integrated into the regular live version of the game. This means that one or more updates can be tested before they are made available to all players in Early Access.
How do I participate in the Public Stage test?
Some of you may not have done this before, so here are some instructions:
Requirements:
You must have Sengoku Dynasty in your library.
The process
- Open your game library.
- Right-click on Sengoku Dynasty.
- Open ‘Properties’.
- Select the ‘BETAS’ tab.
- Enter this password in the field below the drop-down menu: 6RmK07O5em39LFLj1e4OvZGlrQ7OqI
- Click on ‘CHECK CODE’.
- Use the drop-down menu and select ‘releasecandidate’. This is the Public Stage version.
- Click on ‘Close’.
- Steam should now download this version of the game.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE SAVE YOUR LIVE VERSION OF THE GAME AS A BACKUP BEFORE YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE PUBLIC STAGE VERSION!
This is purely a precautionary measure in the very unlikely event that something goes wrong!
The save files can be found at this path:
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/SengokuDynasty/Saved/
Copy the entire folder to a zip file or save a copy to another location on your hard drive.
*Steam refers to all these builds as ‘betas’, although they are not necessarily betas, so don't be confused!
