Currently, work on extending Line 17 northwards is in full swing.
We would like to showcase part of this new route, north of Barmbek station up to the large intersection of Fuhlsbüttler Straße / Altes Wöhr / Langenfort, in this news post with images from development.
Although the scenes shown are still a work in progress and do not represent the final state, it is already clear how much attention to detail is being put into this section.
Shortly after the release of The Bus DLC – Hamburg City, we received numerous requests from the community to extend Line 17 beyond Barmbek station.
In the current version of the DLC, the line ends there and then returns towards Feldstraße.

Now the line is being extended further north so that it can reach Bramfelder Dorfplatz in one of the upcoming sections. Additional route sections are already planned and will be implemented at a later date.
From Barmbek station, Line 17 initially follows the same route as Lines 7 and 277. However, unlike those lines, it does not turn east into Hellbrookstraße but continues north along Fuhlsbüttler Straße.

“Die Fuhle,” as it is colloquially known, is a lively and heavily frequented area: houses line the street, and numerous retail shops, restaurants, and snack bars shape the streetscape.
Until now, the built-up map ended roughly at Heidhörn Street, shortly after the bus passes under the U3 subway bridge in reality. But beyond this point, intensive construction is currently underway.

Currently, some traffic lights are still missing, pedestrian areas need to be defined, and AI traffic must be adjusted to the future traffic flow.
Those familiar with the area in real life will already be able to orient themselves quite well.

Before the bus turns from Fuhlsbüttler Straße into Langenfort, the route first passes under the striking Barmbek Ring Bridge. Below it is a large, busy intersection where several important streets converge, creating a lively traffic scene in the game.
Above the bridge runs Ring 2, one of Hamburg’s main traffic arteries, a defining feature of this route section, which is clearly visible in the DLC as well.
In this news, we show you images of the current development state of the area between Hellbrookstraße and Neue Wöhr stops.
