[p]License Points is a new feature introduced in Ranked Online with update 1.7.0.0 for Project Motor Racing.[/p][p][/p][p]Designed to encourage clean racing and protect competitive integrity within Ranked events, this system will become increasingly important to your Ranked Online career.[/p][p][/p][p]Below, we explain how it works and what to expect with update 1.7.0.0 and what will come into effect with the championships for the month of April.[/p][p][/p][p][/img][/p][p][/p]

License Points

[p]The system is built around two core pillars:[/p]
 • [p]License Points: A driver’s safety reputation.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Protest & Steward Review: The enforcement mechanism.[/p][/*]
[p][/p][p]Together, these two pillars are designed to create a fair, transparent, and competitive online environment.[/p][p][/p][p]Starting with update 1.7.0.0 each player is given 20 License Points.[/p][p][/p][p]A player only loses License Points when:[/p]
 • [p]A protest is lodged against them.[/p][/*]
 • [p]The protest is reviewed by our internal stewards team.[/p][/*]
 • [p]The protest is upheld.[/p][/*]
[p][/p][p]When an incident occurs during a race, a protest can be submitted (see our FAQ on how to do this) by any user, along with supporting evidence.[/p][p][/p][p]A steward will then review the case and, if upheld, License Points will be deducted based on the severity of the offence.[/p][p][/p]

Why This System Was Put in Place

[p]The License & Protest system is designed to:[/p]
 • [p]Encourage clean racing.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Enforce competitive integrity.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Maintain an engaging and fair environment.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Provide a reputation metric.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Act as a championship-entry requirement filter.[/p][/*]
[p][/p][p]This system was created directly in response to community feedback.[/p][p][/p][p]We are aware that a clean and fair racing environment is essential to Ranked Online. If you are dedicating your time to our Ranked ecosystem, structures must be in place to minimise toxicity and reward responsible driving.[/p][p][/p][p]If you see deliberate misconduct in Ranked Online, we encourage you to please file a protest. Keeping PMR’s Ranked environment fair depends on active participation from the community.[/p][p][/p][p][/img][/p]

Why License Points Matter

[p]Starting with update 1.7.0.0 all Ranked Online races require drivers to have at least 0 License Points to enter Ranked races.[/p][p][/p][p]At the start of the April Championships, License Point entry criteria will then come into effect, with higher-tier races requiring a higher number of License Points. Below we explain how this works.[/p][p][/p]

What Does This Mean For Players?

 • [p]Players with low License Points may not be eligible to enter certain Ranked races that require higher License Points.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Players with negative License Points will be excluded from Ranked competition entirely until their license recovers.[/p][/*]
[p][/p]

How It All Works

 • [p]With update 1.7.0.0 every player starts with 20 License Points.[/p][/*]
 • [p]License Points recover automatically at a rate of +1 point at midnight GMT, up to the maximum of 20 points. This allows players to regain status over time.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Players can drop as low as -60 License Points.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Select Championship races will require at least 0 License Points for entry into certain races.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Higher-tier championship races will require higher License Point thresholds (beginning with the first rounds of the April Championships).[/p][/*]
 • [p]The highest-ranked races will require no more than 20 points for entry, meaning most players will be able to enter.[/p][/*]

Point Deductions

[p]Points are deducted based on the severity of the infraction:[/p]
 • [p]Minor misconduct = small deduction.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Aggressive or unsafe driving = moderate deduction.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Severe misconduct = major deduction.[/p][/*]
[p][/p][p]Points are only deducted when:[/p]
 • [p]A protest is filed.[/p][/*]
 • [p]A steward reviews and rules in favour of the protest.[/p][/*]
[p][/p]

Future Extension: Telemetry-Driven Decisions

[p]The next phase of development (post-April Championships) will integrate automated telemetry-based behaviour tracking. This will make License Points less dependent on user-generated protest tickets for minor infractions.[/p][p][/p][p]Future systems should include:[/p]
 • [p]Incident detection (contacts, unsafe rejoins, off-tracks).[/p][/*]
 • [p]Minor automatic deductions.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Clean race bonuses.[/p][/*]
 • [p]Custom lobby filtering to promote clean racers.[/p][/*]
[p]Major penalties, such as intentional wrecking, will always require human review since the penalties will have significant repercussions on the player’s ability to enter Ranked Online races.[/p][p][/p]

Available Now

[p]The Protest & License Points system is introduced with update 1.7.0.0. PC players can lodge protests by scanning the QR code that displays during the post-race replay, while PS5 and Xbox users can continue submitting protests via official Discord server.[/p][p][/p][p]The reason for this phased rollout is because it allows us to strengthen backend systems and ensure robustness across all platforms. The faster iteration cycle on PC makes it the appropriate system for further refinement.[/p][p][/p][p]This is an important foundation for PMR’s competitive future and one that will create a safer, fairer, and more professional environment for Ranked Online racing.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ll see you on track.[/p]
