Who is Murnau?
Most of you encountered Murnau just recently if you have watched our latest Faction Reveal Trailer.

A few of you might also have met him ingame already, as he made a small appearance in campaign map 2, which was playable in the Closed Beta during Summer.
But what and who is this mysterious character?
Murnau is probably one of the oldest creatures in the world of Songs of Songs of Silence.
His origins are shrouded in myth, but it is rumored that he has roamed the world for thousands of years, even witnessing the splitting of the old world during the War of Origin*.
When people do dare to speak about him, they will lower their voices to a barley legible whisper and use the name he and his ilk have been given ever since: Lighteaters.
This name comes from horrible tales of these creatures feeding on the Divine Hymn of others to prolong their accursed existence.
But these are mere stories, surely more fiction than fact. How could the Celestial Gods suffer such a sacrilegious creature to exist?
The question remains:
Who is he? What does he have to do with the Purgatories** and the Crusade***?
What plans could he have for a world driven close to extinction from the ever-growing Silence?
*In the Days of Old, there was nothing but the divine Hymn echoing through the cosmos. It was a song that spoke of every living being, every creature great and small, the entirety of creation. A perfect symphony of life.
It was from this divine energy that many gods were born, each one imbued with power beyond measure. And yet, when they came together on the Advent of Light, they waged a war unlike any other. Their battle rent the very fabric of the universe asunder.
Out of this war, two new worlds emerged - one of light populated by Starborn, and one of the dark, where the Firstborn made their home.
**Purgatories, or so-called Harbingers of the Silence, are a natural phenomenon, manifesting as a moving sphere of energy that consumes everything in its path, leaving only corrupting Silence behind. Purgatories are not only essential elements of our lore but also represent unique game mechanics, as they act as portals from one world to another.
***Crusade: No Spoilers here. For now, let’s just say, the Crusade is tightly connected to the Purgatories.
So, who is the actor providing his voice to this mysterious character like Murnau?
Answer: The famous Harry Myers.
But let’s hear from Harry himself – both who he is and his insights into his journey as Murnau.
