[/p][p]Work on DCS: Afghanistan continues. Community feedback drives fixes and optimization of the DCS: Southwest Afghanistan and DCS: East Afghanistan maps. DCS: North Afghanistan progresses with new airfields, roads, and airfields like Mary-1 and Mary-2 (home of the Soviet Union’s equivalent of Top Gun) in Turkmenistan. We are also reviewing historic locations such as West Kandahar (Operation Medusa), and we invite your suggestions for areas to refine or to add.
[/p][p]High Alpha Hooligans now run four public DCS servers powered by Fox3. There are two persistent campaign worlds: A Warbird Wednesdays server and a training range with air racing. The C-130 Super Hercules, logistics, and CTLD are active, which all make for a big gameplay experience for those interested in logistics and cargo operations. Jump in, move supplies, stir things up, and become a hero.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your passion and support.[/p][p]Yours sincerely, [/p][p]Eagle Dynamics[/p]
2026 and Beyond
It’s that time of year again!
[p][/img][/p][p]We are pleased to share the DCS: 2026 and Beyond video, which looks back on what we have accomplished, what we are developing next, and an insight into some of the priorities that will shape the future of DCS. This year’s video spans modern aircraft, classic warbirds, and major improvements to the world in which they operate. You’ll see progress on aircraft projects such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, La-7N, F-1M, F-104, BO-105, and F-100D Super Sabre. You’ll also notice some interesting things coming to our core engine and to existing modules. Our work on new infantry units continues, with significant improvements in detail, animation, and accuracy. This includes new AI routines for group behaviour, cover usage, obstacle traversal, and navmesh navigation. Terrains continue to expand and improve both visually and in their detail. This work also includes completing the remaining areas of the Afghanistan and Iraq maps. The WWII Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO) effort remains a major focus with progress on the F6F Hellcat, the A6M5 “Zero”, and an extensive collection of PTO AI aircraft, ships, and ground units that bring the 1944 PTO combat environment to life.[/p][p]

Vulkan development is in late-stage, and will unlock new capabilities, broader platform flexibility, and some improved performance. We continue to work on the Dynamic Campaign GUI and AI based on internal testing.[/p][p]Thank you for flying with us and providing all the passion and support that help drive DCS forward. We hope you enjoy the video and its look into the future of DCS.[/p]
DCS: Afghanistan Dev Report
Progress continues in Afghanistan
[/img]
[p]We continue to incorporate community feedback into the DCS: Southwest Afghanistan and DCS: East Afghanistan regions of our Afghanistan map. Your reports have enabled improvements to objects, performance, terrain, and scenery. These updates will be included in future releases.[/p][p]Development of DCS: North Afghanistan is progressing. We are constructing airfields, creating road networks, and developing cities, towns, villages, and waterways to ensure the same level of detail and quality as in the other regions.
[/p][p]Also for DCS: North Afghanistan, we have advanced work on Mary-1 and Mary-2, two Soviet-era airfields in Turkmenistan. These airfields will provide new mission-building options for both single-player and multiplayer. Mary-1 previously hosted Soviet bombers and fighters, while Mary-2 supported Afghan War operations, accommodating MiG-29 and Su-25 aircraft. The screenshots show our focus on accuracy, including the concrete slab layout and surface features. It also served as the home of the Soviet Union’s Center for Combat Employment 1521.
[/p][p]Based on the feedback we have already received, we continue to look at enhancing Afghan points of interest and of historic importance. For example: We are looking to improve West Kandahar, which was the site of one of the most significant NATO operations of the war, known as Operation Medusa. We continue to encourage you to share your personal or academic knowledge of areas you think are valuable for the creation of quality single and multiplayer missions. Thank you.[/p]
