Cold War Germany
Available now

No other location better exemplified the Cold War between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces than the “Iron Curtain” separating East and West Germany in the 1980s. Massive forces were arrayed on both sides of this heavily fortified frontier that witnessed so much for so many years. Ugra-Media has recreated this pivotal “what if” scenario with a level of excellence and detail far greater than ever before.
This 980x800 km map includes the varied terrain of the rolling hills of southern Germany, the flat northern European plains that served as the corridor to countless historical battles, and the coastlines of the Baltic Sea. The low-level terrain detail makes this map a must have for attack aircraft and helicopter pilots who just love flying at tree-top height.

DCS Update
Development Progress

DCS Core
We have released the initial version of Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) that supports custom countermeasure programs and radio presets for the F/A-18C and F-16C. DTC files can be created by single player and multiplayer pilots prior to entering a mission from the Briefing Window. Future updates will expand DTC functionality to include navigation, targeting, datalink, weapon settings, and much more. Additional development for the AH-64D and A-10C II is in the pipeline. DTC files can also be saved and shared between missions and even your friends. Please check out this helpful quick start guide and video, Additionally, when you have created your own DTC file, you can share via User Files under DTC Profiles.
The Mission Editor received a new zoom level for the map, making fine-tuning small assets more convenient and precise. Several smaller GUI bugs were fixed and the German Democratic Republic (GDR) now has relevant units and liveries added.
DCS version 2.9.15.9408 also includes new persistence support Scripting API functions which also work with the Mission Save feature with custom scripts. Additionally, more user feedback has prioritised our work on saving destroyed assets and waypoint parameters to the mission save file. This will be coming soon in a future update.
Several AI specific behaviour problems were fixed and new JTAC voice lines for calling out weapon types were added. Furthermore, specific DCS Core optimisations for resource loading have been implemented, improving cockpit loading and boosting application startup speeds.
Eagle Dynamics Modules
This update refined many of our in‑house aircraft. As you know, the F‑16C gained early Data Transfer Cartridge support. Additionally, the aircraft received a raft of sensor fixes; from steadier TGP tracking to smoother radar and cursor handling. The F/A‑18C received the same initial DTC implementation, ejection logic fix, and a seeker‑cage correction. AH‑64D crews will notice smoother Cued‑LOS behaviour, air-data probe animation fix, and a less erratic George AI. Rotary fans also benefited from fresh Mi‑24P liveries, plus Mi‑8MTV2 tail-rotor animation and door‑gunner fixes. Black Shark 3’s vibration warning is audible again. F‑5E’s animations like glass damage discrepancies and command bindings were fixed, and the Yak‑52’s brakes, gear bindings, and AI patterns were corrected.
Third‑Party Modules & Terrains
Our partner developers also delivered some interesting enhancements. Deka’s JF‑17 sports a new SATAC skin, proper brake‑chute logic, and toned‑down radar effects on RWR. Aerges has tuned the Mirage F1 with synchronized cockpit options, safer missile logic, and robust input commands, while AvioDev’s C‑101 flight director and lesson logic were fixed. Heatblur’s F‑4E introduced user‑made Jester mod support, a pneudraulics overhaul, audio refresh, and new training content; the F‑14 squashed audio‑stepping and afterburner‑lag bugs; and the AJS‑37 restores kneeboard data and all‑aspect RB‑74s.
