Hello Raiders!

Welcome to the Hell Galaxy team's first dev diary. We are incredibly excited to embark on this adventure and finally connect with all of you out there.

First and foremost, thank you very much. Many of you played the demo we released, and we received a wide array of feedback. Your input has been invaluable in helping us focus even more on various aspects of our game.

With the demo, we hope to have conveyed our original vision of the game, a space shooter that raises intriguing questions: What happens when I turn a former prisoner into a cold machine? When I extract their consciousness and send it to a distant and dangerous galaxy full of remnants of an ancient civilization, where humanity is only a distant, irretrievable memory? What happens to somebody no one cares about, with no memories, in an exile that will never, ever, end? We know this is only the beginning of our story, but this is where we started developing the Hell Galaxy experience, and we hope these very questions intrigue you as they do us.

But now it's time to look to the future of the game and how to move forward to make the experience the best possible for everyone. While we continue to work diligently on the project as a whole, creating new systems you will be able to enjoy once the game is released, we are also working on the release of a new demo that will focus on improving the quality of life for you as players in the Galaxy of Neterun, following the feedback you posted on the community hub.
We have identified a series of topics we need to address before the release of the new demo. Many of you have reported stability and performance issues, experiencing low frame rates and crashes (thanks again to everyone posting logs and info about their specs in the hub!). Related to the same topic, we also noticed that many players have felt the options panel lacking, particularly when it comes to controlling the game graphics. While there is still a lot of room for improvement, we have identified many key areas that could have caused issues, and hopefully, you will be able to have a more fluid experience in the new demo.

About the combat and flight, we heard your feedback, and many pointed to the lack of speed and reactivity of the player ship. We have tweaked a lot of numbers, and in the new release, you will find the spaceship more reactive and more balanced in comparison to the enemies you are going to face. Additionally, we made some enhancements to the UI/UX and fixed bugs that could impede progress in the early stages of the game and make the experience frustrating.

This is just a brief communication to get in touch with you raiders. We thank you again for joining us, and remember to stay in touch. Next week, we will follow with a proper dev log telling you what to expect in the new demo.

That's all for now. Back to our hellish galaxy to torment the poor souls of you former convicts.

Farewell, Raiders!
