Hello raiders!
Welcome back to our weekly update. We're continuing our series on the development of some of the modules you'll encounter in Hell Galaxy. In previous entries, we looked at Imperial and Iron Guild weapons. Today we're switching things up again with a look at the creation of a Gold laser weapon.
The Gold Guild, eternal rivals of the Iron Guild, were another major raider faction during the early stages of Neterun’s colonization. Unlike the Iron Raiders, they favor more scientifically advanced weaponry and have a much more refined aesthetic. They’re devoted to what they consider a raider deity: the god of gold reveals himself through the guild leader. Here's one of the guild’s most powerful lasers: the Kubeam, shown here in its early concept form.

Technology, elegance, and power define the Gold aesthetic. It’s aggressive, but with a polished look. The divinity they worship must shine through in every detail. We used a lot of circular elements, the "perfect" shape, to suggest the divine connection these raiders believe they experience in battle.

In this blockout phase, we focused on some of the standout details from the concept. The long tips, for example, are designed to concentrate the beam on targets for maximum damage. Take note of the Kubeam’s power cores, with their semi-transparent central sections, and the flowing, regal outer decorations. A kind of majesty that borders on the sacred.
The weapon is finished with the signature style of the Gold Guild. Intricate engravings on the plates enhance the overall design, adding a final touch of destructive elegance to the Kubeam.

Here’s the final, complete image of the weapon. We’ll see you in the next dev diary!
Farewell, raiders!
