Conflict Zones
Realm Divided restructures Faction Warfare on the Royal Continent.- This aims to make faction PvP ever-present
- Currently, faction forces often march past each other searching for content
- The new system focuses the action into active warzones
- Valuable objectives in these areas give players rewards to fight over
The Faction Warfare wordmap overlay shows the current state of the war.
- This shows which Provinces belong to which faction, and which are currently contested
- Zoomed in, you see individual regions as before
- Zoomed out, you get a strategic picture of Provinces and frontlines
- Provinces under attack are marked with red sword icons
- Red arrows show the direction of attack
Faction Transports
Faction Transports address the problem of long travel times to the frontlines.- These can be found near the Faction Commander in every Royal City, and in Fortresses controlled by your faction
- You can travel from these directly to conflict zones where your faction is active
- You cannot travel into red zones, but you can travel up to their entrances
Faction Camps and Chests
Faction Camps and Faction Chests are new activities found in active conflict zones. They serve as natural focal points in a conflict zone, where players can encounter both allies and enemies.- Faction Camps are supply camps that have been overrun by bandits
- They exist in two types: solo and small-group
- By clearing out the bandits from the camp, your faction can unlock a Faction Chest
- When this chest is opened, all nearby players from that faction can share the loot
These objectives provide constant, dynamic skirmishes within conflict zones. Each camp cleared and chest opened brings your faction closer to victory, giving them an impact on the broader struggle.
Our next Dev Talk goes a step further in the faction conflict, looking at massive fortress sieges and how Provinces change hands and reshape the map. Stay tuned.
